The Null

1400 years into the future and mankind is more digital than human.  Their quantum states are whisked from vessel to vessel, planet to planet within the sub-bands of the WhisperNet.  The merchant empire of 34 trillion souls is spread across 3 galaxies and more than 40,000 colonies, asteroids and migrant fleets.

In the most dangerous quadrant of the human empire exists the docile, but supermassive blackhole, the Null.  A mining station of the same name precariously orbits a gas giant captured in the maw of the tidal singularity.  It extracts a rare mineral from its upper atmosphere called Bind.

The station has gone quiet.  Only a faint distress signal warbles through the WhisperNet.  Will you answer?
